EMF* Basics
In addition to the earth's natural magnetic field, our planet is also increasingly affected by magnetic fields that are due to electrification, in particular the generation, transmission, distribution and consumption of electrical power. Every current-carrying conductor is surrounded by a magnetic field whose intensity is determined by the current strength, the environment and the distance to the conductor.
Although engineers and manufacturers of electrical systems and devices should ensure that the magnetic fields emitted into the environment are as low as possible, the legal and/or technical limits are often violated.
